Sturgeon Valley Asphalt Trails – 2011

General Contractor for the construction of roughly 2km’s of asphalt trails close to Riverstone Pointe in Sturgeon County. These unique asphalt trails were constructed with significant elevation change where switchbacks and retaining walls were incorporated to soften the grades for the users. These trails went through dense trees; along a top of bank; descended quite close to the Sturgeon River; and were constructed with limited access. The scope of work included grading the existing ground to accommodate the trail alignment; constructing retaining walls where needed; installing wrought iron fence along at a couple locations where there were safety concerns with the existing cliffs; subgrade preparation and fabric; paving; line painting and landscape restoration.
