DeFord Contracting Inc. is dedicated to providing a safe work environment for not only our own workers, but for the public and the other site personnel. We are committed to a safety program that stresses the importance of training and accountability at all employment levels. An integral part of our safety program is training, and all of our supervisors are required to receive training by the Alberta Construction Safety Association as well as additional training in first aid, incident reporting, hazard assessments, and conducting regular tool box meetings. All employees undergo a safety orientation upon hiring and participate in regular safety meetings. Personal protective equipment is mandatory on all DeFord Contracting Inc. sites and is issued to employees once hired.
DeFord Contracting Inc. has participated in the Alberta Construction Association's "Partnerships in Injury Reduction" program for many years and we maintain our COR (Certificate of Recognition) certification by undergoing routine internal and external auditing. From an equipment standpoint, we utilize a preventative maintenance program to repair or replace defective equipment in order to reduce equipment failures and their potential for accidents.
